You’re smarter than he is. Stay in the car. I don’t mind babysitting you, Penny, but please tell the beagle that’s an arm rest not a chew toy! Inspector Gadget

This amazing Beagle poster is a part of a series of dog breed artworks created by John Golden. The same technique is used for all of them: dogs are depicted on a color background with yummy bones on it.  John Golden has chosen blue as the background of the poster as no other color has means careless merriment in its psychological description. And there is no other word to describe beagles but “merry”. Beagles enjoy company, love kids and family. Your may recognize them by typical colors: white tail tip and muzzle, spots of black, white and brown over the body.

The breed has long and notable history. It originates from Ancient Greece. The name most likely comes from the French “begueule” (meaning “open throat”). Beagles have amazing vocal chords, that’s why they are called sometimes “singing beagles”. In fact, Beagle bark will be heard by all your neighbors, so take it in to account before getting the dog home. Beagle is a true hunter. There are millions receptors in Beagle nose which let him have a keen sense of smell. Besides, long ears help Beagles to catch the scent keeping them close to the nose.

Beagles have been depicted in popular culture since Elizabethan. The ship of Charles Darwin made his voyage was named Beagle after the breed. One of the most noted cartoon characters – Snoopy of the comic strip Peanuts – was a beagle. Beagles have lived in the White House during Lyndon B Johnson’s time in office. In June 2006 a Beagle was hailed a hero as a man’s service dog when she bit his cell phone to call 911 after he collapsed in a seizure. They appeared some films (Underdog, Cats and Dogs and Shiloh) in starring roles.

It’s not difficult to find a Beagle puppy for sale, because it’s one of the most popular breed in many countries. People say that Beagle is your personal three-colored medicine for the blues. And indeed it is.
